Catwalk (Music from the TV series) (Atlantic Records)
various artists

Maybe I'm slipping out of the ranks of the MTV generation, but I have to admit that I have never heard of, much less seen, "Catwalk." I only know two things: (1) it is a show on the music television network and (2) if the music is any indication, it's about as creative as a Milli Vanilli anthology.

The majority of the songs on here are strictly grade school stuff, with verses and choruses slopped together like a burrito supreme from Taco Bell. I guess everyone kept their textbooks from Songwriting 101.

The songs are sung and performed by cast members of the show, with two notable exceptions. Contributions by Buffalo Tom ("I'm Allowed") and the Lemonheads ("It's About Time") stand out like Rupaul at an Elks Club meeting.

Other than that, you're better off channel surfing around "Catwalk," especially if it features a healthy dose of what's offered on the CD.
