Martin says Joe GalanteXE "Joe Galante" loved their new stuff and that the CD will be out in April.

WTMT AM 620XE "WTMT AM 620" is giving up on country music and changing format to an "All Sports" station. At least they didn't sell the station to Clear Channel Communications.

Dr. Dennis BuchholzXE "Dr. Dennis Buchholz", Ph.D. and Dr. Paul SalmonXE "Dr. Paul Salmon", Ph.D. will take participants through a series of techniques for reducing performance anxiety. From the same new tabloid-sized section, we learn that StarbillyXE "Starbilly" is breaking up. And here we had just been hearing rumors that the band was negotiating with a major label – the kiss of death for any Louisville band. Peter Searcy fans, fret not, however, for the cellist with the arena-filling vocals will be putting together another band with current Starbilly guitarist Phil WakemanXE "Phil Wakeman".

As for the Weekend Extra, we here at LMN must always applaud more coverage for live music, even if it is mostly a recycling of current stuff into a Friday paper. And to think, the reason that LMN got started in the first place was because of a comment by then-CJ/Louisville Times music columnist Ronni LundyXE "Ronni Lundy" that Louisville needed a music newspaper following the demise of the Times and the loss of several pages of music coverage. Of course, here at LMN, we think that the reason for the change is in response to the size of Louisville Eccentric Observer's advertising clientele: Gannett no doubt wishes to put that money into their profit margin.

Naw, they wouldn't try to do that, would they?
