Correction

In last month's issue, it was incorrectly stated — twice — that Steve Eng's "He Stopped Songwriting Today" was Steve's version of a hit song by the group Alabama. Of course, as any country music fan knows, the song parodied was "He Stopped Loving Her Today," a No. 1 song for George Jones.

Actually, it was an Alabama hit song, "Close Enough to Perfect," that prompted the error. Seems several years ago someone had written new words to that song and was considering trotting it out for a reprise at the April 18 meeting. A fresh look at the rewritten words revealed references that would have made sense to only a few long-time members.

But the Alabama album was still very visible and stuck in the typist's mind as the LASC Letter was being prepared for publication . . . .
