Issue: April 1989

Corrections & Clarifications

Because of incorrect information received, we stated in our March L.A.S.C. Letter that the proceeds for the Easter Sunday production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" would go into a special credit union type fund for musicians. According to a publicity flier that we later received, all proceeds are to benefit "Dare to Care."

Just recently caught an error in the address we listed in our January L.A.S.C. Letter for Five Star Productions. The correct address is: 5023 (not 4023) Saddleview Drive, Franklin, TN 37064.

In our March L.A.S.C. Letter we inadvertently listed the names of the April performers instead of the March performers in an article about our upcoming Songwriter Showcase. The list was, however, correct on our calendar.

In February we should have said that Don Gibson (not Don Williams) had recorded Prince Phillip Mitchell's "Starting All Over Again" back in 1979.

We are sorry for any inconvenience these errors may have caused.

An "Oooops!" from Dallas Embry

Well, take me out to the desert and strap me to a saguaro with rusty barbed wire and make me listen to Tiny Tim for twelve hours, if I didn't make a really dumb mistake.

"The Last Gunfighter Ballad," which I attributed (in the March issue of the L.A.S.C. Letter) to Townes Van Zandt, was actually written by that other great songwriter Guy Clark, and I knew that when I wrote the article. (And he did get it right when he wrote the article on Van Zandt and Clark in our January issue. -- Editor.)

My apologies to all and sundry. Mea culpa.
