P. D. Q. Bach at the Kentucky Center

"Professor" Peter Schickele will bring The Intimate P. D. Q. Bach to the Kentucky Center for a one-night-only show on the final P. D. Q. Bach tour on Saturday, October 27 at 8:00 p.m.

For more than twenty years, Peter Schickele, musician, composer and humorist, has been presenting the works of P. D. Q., the "last and least" of the sons of the prolific Johann Sebastian Bach. The "newly-discovered" compositions have proliferated as the years have gone by, until the catalogue of P. D. Q. Bach exceeds that of many a composer who actually existed.

Schickele will bring his ensemble, the Semi-Pro Musica Antiqua, which includes Dana Krueger, "mezzanine" soprano and Peter Lurye, "pianoer."

Schickele's 1989 album P. D. Q. Bach: 1712 Overture and Other Musical Assaults won a Grammy Award as Best Comedy Album of the Year.

Tickets are $17.50 and $10.00 at the Kentucky Center Ticket Service, 584-7777 or 1-800-283-7777.
