Louisville Bach Society Opens New Season
The Bach Society's "Choral Masterworks" season will premiere with two of the most lyrical works in the repertoire, "How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place," from Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Opus 45 and the Serenade to MusicBy Ralph Vaughn Williams. The Williams' piece is one of the Bach Society's few forays into the secular realm. Originally written for sixteen solo singers, the Serenade will feature the renowned soprano Lorna Haywood, and the return of the popular Canadian bass-baritone Daniel Lichti. Local singers Sharon Schuster-Craig and Harvey Turner complete the solo quartet.
The performance will be at the Calvary Episcopal Church, 821 S. 4th St., on Sunday, October 14, 1990 at 3:00 p.m.
