Moonlight Dances
Scott Furlong
Format: Cassette
By Patrick Fitzgerald
Fans of local musician Scott Furlong would find Moonlight Dances this to be a very representative recording of this storytelling-type songwriter.
The cassette album is a fairly clean, but not overly high-quality recording, which displays Scott's songs "mostly for their content," as Scott puts it. It is a good example of the tender lamenting musical and vocal qualities of this oft-heard local musician.
Scott's appeal seems to be somewhere between the Harry Chapin and Jim Croce genre and his songs are well received in that vein.
The tape is sold at Four Seasons Records and is a must for all those who see Scott perform on a regular basis.
