MEETING NEWS

FUTURE MEETINGS

February 1 --Jam Session. Bring your instrument of choice to the Twice Told Coffeehouse at 1604 Bardstown Road. The coffeehouse is on the west side of Bardstown, right at the intersection of Bonnycastle. It's a couple of doors away from Guitar Emporium and across the street from the Doo Wop Shop.

February 9 -- Board Meeting. Call Tim Lynch for directions.

February 15 -- Critique Session. Bring your song on cassette tape and 15 lyric sheets. There will also be discussion of upcoming LASC activities.

MEMBER NEWS

The LASC would like to welcome new memberClara Jacobs. Many of us met her at the Hit Makers '92 seminar in November. She writes country music from her home in Warsaw, Ohio. I hope we see you at other LASC events, Clara.

RE-MEMBER-ING

Joyce Trammell renewed her membership last month. Joyce is concentrating on writing a novel and is no longer a member of the Board of Trustees. She has been a great help and will be missed. Thanks, Joyce.

Anyone interested in joining the LASC or wanting more information can call Ray Yates at 502-969-1326, and I will be glad to answer any questions and forward a membership application.

Questions! Questions!

The member survey forms have started trickling back in. They make for very interesting reading.

Did you know that about 66% of LASC members play acoustic guitar?

Did you know that about 85% of LASC members sing?

Less than 20% of the membership has responded so far. Please, assist us in making the LASC a better organization for everyone. This is amember-owned organization and will only be as good as we're willing to make it. The final results of the survey will be published in next month's paper.

Did you know that you can run an ad or announcement in theLASC Letter for free?

Have you learned something interesting about songwriting or the business that you would like to share with others?

TheLASC Letter could be the outlet for all that creative energy you've been keeping bottled up. Anyone interested in writing a feature article for theLASC Letter should contact me at the above number or call the Prez at 231-5559.
