Name: Dave Wathen

Age: 25

Instrument: Drum/Percussion

Band/Former Bands: Currently in Factor 9. Former bands Engrind, Flaw, Mindstorm/Mayhem. Filled in for other band in the area, most recently 7-Day Sun which was Execrate.

How Long On Instrument: 21 years. My dad taught me when I was 4 years old. Back then I couldn't even see over my drum kit.

Equipment: I have a 6-piece DW Collectors Series Satin Lavender finish, with Birdseye exotic maple wood but now I only use a 5 piece kit.

Influences: WOW....I have a lot but some of the main ones are My Dad (Len Wathen), Danny Carey (TOOL), Neil Peart (Rush), Dave Weckl and Sean Reinhert (who was in a band called Cynic back in the day) and Dave Lombardo (Slayer).

Hobbies: Well, eating and sleeping for sure...LoL!

I like playing X-Box, playing Electronic Football, taking care of my pet fish (African Cichlids) hanging out with my friends, recording, NASCAR racing (Go Earnhardt Jr.) and, of course, U Of L Sports.

Favorite Movies: Naked Gun movies, Police Squad, Police Academy, Half Baked, JackAss, Hot Shots, Kentucky Fried Movie, National Lampoon movies, mostly just the funny ones.

Favorite Food: Well, pretty much anything, but I must say I am a sucker for the T-bone steak at Texas Roadhouse.

Favorite Place: Behind a drum kit, in a recording studio, in my bed sleeping, hanging out in my room.

What I'm Listening to Nowadays: Ummm, well, a little bit of everything: Sevendust, Pulse Ultra, Tool, Jay-Z, Outkast, Snoop, Too Short, Chevelle, Cold, Chicago, some jazz when I have it and I listen to a lot of Bluegrass music such as Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Ralph Stanley and a lot of others.

Coolest Thing I've Done: Me and Scott went to Las Vegas in May of 2000. That place was awesome. And back in November of 2003, my friend Terri took me to my first U of L football. I think I was in shock most the day, that was by far one of the greater things I have experienced. Matter of fact, liked it so much that got season tickets for this coming year. GO CARDS!!!!

Eddy: Vegas is the bomb, I agree with Dave, if any of you get the chance, go!

Most Embarrassing Moment: Wow. I can't really think of many times where I have had an embarrassing moment. One thing I recall that did embarrass me was back when I was in Flaw. We were playing at the Toy Tiger, Jay was wearing a kilt and you know what people wear under those, NOTHING!!!! Well, he done one of his famous Jay jumps, when he landed his kilt came flying down to his ankles. Being the drummer guess where I am, right behind him so I got a full ass shot, that was embarrassing but of course he acted like it was no big deal...LoL

If possible I'd like to give a shout out to my parents, the guys in my band and to all my friends....Thanks Eddy...GO CARDS!!!!
