Down On The Corner

The Spring season for shows is shaping up to be a steady stream of national acts coming to town, some notably oldies and some new ones, plus the lesser-known acts heading for Zanzabar and any other small club that is open to new stuff. Keep your ears protected but open to new sounds and you wallet in hand.

Jeff Hillerich and his wife have decided to close Uncle Sam’s Jamms on Durrett Lane. Another local music store goes down...

Metzner, Edward Severance, 86, died on February 8 in Louisville. He was a former President of the Louisville Thoroughbred Chorus.

Petersen, Donald T. "Don", 80, died on February 15, 2018. He was vocalist who was a 25 year Lead Tenor with the Kentucky Opera Association under the direction of Moritz Bomhard. He was a two-time winner of the District Opera Auditions for the Metropolitan Opera of New York City and a finalist in the Chicago Metropolitan Opera Auditions.
