Songwriter Opportunities

(Louisville Music News provides the following information as a service to its readers and does not pass judgment on the advisability of participating in the opportunities presented. -Editor.)

Dixie Moose Production, a Nashville, Tenn.-based television production company, will be auditioning for its 1991 and 1992, variety show, which they describe as a "popular show (which) is now in syndication in T.V. Markets nationwide and will be taped before a live studio audience."

Auditions are by appointment only and the music categories are country, gospel, bluegrass and comedy.

They invite interested parties to submit a cassette tape and photo plus an 8. x 10 self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Dixie Moose Production, Suite 211, 27 Music Square East Nashville, TN 37203-4349. Phone (615)385-1662.

Bernie Walters of Metropolis Music Group, P.O. Box 120695, Nashville, TN 37212, Phone (615) -32040880, writes that his new company is actively looking for songs to co-publish and to pitch to major artists in all markets.

Mr. Walters describes himself as an experienced, publisher with lots of cuts to his credit. He further says, "If you might be at all interested in letting us hear some of your material, perhaps there is some success we could share."

C.I.A. & Associates, Las Vegas, Nev., would like to hear from songwriters with country-cross-over" material, uptempo with a positive message; strong ballads O.K. They will be accepting material for consideration until July 30, 1991, for a recording project of all original material for Tammy Pemberton, six-time winner of Star Search for '88-89.

C.I.A. & Associates' representative John N. Kaye credits Pemberton's producer with "several Gold Albums ... Merle Haggard, Mac Davis and Johnny Tillitson to name a few."

Songwriters are asked to submit 1-4 songs with their name and song titles on cassette, with lyric sheets and S.A.S.E. if they wish their material returned after review. (No phone calls, please.)
