New Song '92

On Friday and Saturday, August 21 and 22, New Song '92 celebrates its seventh year as one of the premier summer festivals in the Midwest. And year seven promises to be the best yet! The team behind New Song believes in reaching youth with the message of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. "The heart of our ministry is evangelism and discipleship of youth. We believe it and try to focus all we do at the festival around that goal," said one of the New Song team members.

From the annual theme, to the seminars offered, all the way to the challenge for commitment on Saturday night, there is careful attention given to focusing Jesus Christ as the Savior. Each year the festival has a 72-hour prayer vigil to undergird the work of the gospel and the ministry.

Attendance at this year's event will probably surpass the 6,000-person record of 1991. This is the third year the festival offers camping, plus a great lineup of Christian artists both days. Friday night will feature White Heart, Kim Boyce, Newsboys and Kevin Singleton. Saturday's special guest is Mylon & Broken Heart, with Geoff Moore & the Distance, D.O.C., Newsboys, Bash and Bride.

White Heart's newest album is hot and a new Mylon & Broken Heart album is expected in August. Geoff Moore is such a solid rocker with a strong ministry. If rap is your style, D.O.C. will push your pulse. Louisville's own Dove Award-winning group, Bride, will deliver hard-driving rock.

Al Menconi, a dynamic youth speaker, shares Friday evening and conducts seminars on Saturday. His message concerning secular rock and roll challenges teens to consider the message of the music. Other seminars will focus on youth.

New Song '92 is an event for the whole family. The festival is held at beautiful Camp Loucon in Leitchfield, Ky.

There is plenty of walking space, children's activities and concessions for meals, etc. It's your choice . . . you can camp for the weekend and take it all in . . . or take the day and enjoy the best of the summer at New Song '92 . . . the festival just keeps getting better!
