Country Band Contest Set for August

The 11th Annual Village Pub/ True Value / GMC Truck Country Showdown will be hosted by WZKS Hot Country 103.9. Over $150,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded nationally.

A grand prize of $50,000, a 1993 Yukon from GMC truck and a recording contract will be awarded at the televised national finals in December 1992.

The Sweethearts of the Rodeo were the winners of the 1985 title.

The preliminary rounds, featuring six acts each night, are scheduled for Tuesday, August 4 and Tuesday, August 11. The top three acts from those rounds will meet in the finals on Tuesday, August 18, at the Village Pub in Jeffersonville.

The best act on August 18 will go on to represent Hot Country 103.9 in the state final, to be held held in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
