News From The Pit

News From The Pit
By Laura Spaulding

Hey to all people of the Pit! Hope everyone caught some of the heavy shows that happened in July - we had some killer ones! I unfortunately didn't make it to as many shows as I would have liked to, but I heard that Biohazard (at the ICP show) was kick butt, as was Limp Bizkit and Staind. Hope everyone checked out Staind again at The LRS Fest at Waterfront Park on July 25. [Read Jason Koerner's review of the Limp Bizkit show - Ed.]

N Speaking of festivals - did anyone get to New York to check out Woodstock '99'? It would have been pretty cool to check out the heavier bands such as Godsmack, Megadeth, Metallica, Sevendust and Rage Against The Machine. There were surprisingly more metal oriented bands in the line up than I thought there would be.

N Also, has anyone attended any of the Ozzfest shows? I hear this fest is the ultimate! I also hear that one of the bands playing on this tour features Geezer Butler's son. Don't know what kind of sound this band has (or the name!) but I'd like to check it out. I'll try to find out more about some of the lesser-known bands playing the Ozzfest. Write if you've been to one of these . . .

N A couple of shows happening in August at The Toy Tiger:

N August 6 - Check out Neil Zsa Zsa & Bobby Rock.

N August 20 - Definitely check out Unsigned Extreme 5, presented by 100.5 The Fox's Attitude Network. Bands featured will be Pownd, MSD, Kallus, Bloodline 420, and Faceplant. Show starts at 8 p.m. & it'll cost ya just $6. 00. You know the Unsigned Extreme shows rule - so Be There!

That's all the news I've got for ya now - but I promise to have more for ya next month & also I WILL have some CD reviews. Support all metal! See ya
