Dale Donaldson

Name : Dale Donaldson

Age : 46

Instrument : Guitar

Band/Former Bands : Evil Emily, Hurtcircle and currently Lethean

How long on instrument : I have been playing on and off since I was about 13. I started playing again seriously in about 2007. I guess all together around 30 years.

Equipment : Ii have always been a jackson guy no matter how many other brands I try, I go right back to them. So currently I play Jackson guitars, KSR amps, a Celestion loaded Randall 412 cab and my pedalboard is pretty simple. It consist's of a Maxon od808 od, Tc electronics flashback delay, ISP decimator and a Shure wireless.

Influences : Its a long list but to name a few, Randy Rhoads, Jake E Lee, John Sykes, George Lynch, Reb Beach, Dimebag, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert, Vivian Campbell and currently Nick Hipa, the late Oli Herbert and Adam D, Jeff Loomis, Andy James.

My first gig : If i remember correctly because I am old as shit! My first real gig was at the Toy Tiger opening for Days Of the new and Crazytrain!

Hobbies : Outside of playing music/guitar, i just like going to the range to shoot and I have found a love for grilling and smoking!

Favorite movies : I don't have a lot of time for t. v. and movies but when I do, I love all the Rocky movies, the John Wick movies, 13 Ghosts and the Butterfly effect.

Favorite food : Probably almost any beef I can grill or smoke, mexican food and korean food.

Favorite place : Outside of at home with my family, my favorite place is definitely on stage! Oh, and Florida!

Favorite sports or team : I'm honestly not much of a sports guy but I do love watching the UFC or just about any mixed martial arts.

What I'm listening to nowadays : Well I'm always listening to the old school metal and hairband's but I have been wearing out the new As I Lay Dying album lately and Killswitch Engage, All That Remains and Lamb of God.

Coolest thing I've done : That would have to be opening and playing on stage with a lot of the bands I idolize and getting to meet and talk with them.

Most embarrassing moment : A few years ago we were booked to open for Battlecross at Trixie's and about a week before the show,Ii had a pretty bad motorcycle wreck. I almost lost my arm. It was pretty embarrassing and hard for me to tell Trey we had to drop from the show.

Bad Habits : Just about everyone knows I never keep anything gear related so I guess my bad habit is selling and trading all the killer gear I should have kept.

What was your first concert ever : My first real concert was Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Lita Ford and Kiss in Columbus,Ga.

If you could meet a Rockstar ( past or present ), who would it be, and why : If I could meet anyone it would be Randy Rhoads because hearing him play crazytrain is one of the main reasons I play guitar. Or Dimebag because I believe he is one of the most influential guitarist in metal. Everyone loves and respects Dime!!

Who do you love : First and foremost I love my wife and family! But I also have great love for the louisville music scene and all the local bands and musicians that I have become brothers with! Its awesome to call them family as well!
