Louisville Rock Closeup
By Eddy Metal

The Louisville music scene is a Mecca for musicians. The rock scene is dominant and has many talented and charismatic people in it, musicians who have played numerous shows in and around Kentucky. Rockers who have paid the dues.

We decided to delve into the personalities of such people, demented and dysfunctional as they are. First up is Flaw's Chris Ballinger.

Chris Ballinger

Name: Chris Ballinger

Age: 28

Instrument: Drums

Band/Former Bands: Currently playing with FLAW.

Former bands include Shapeless Matrix & Leviticus.

How Long On Instrument: Fourteen years. Also played in his high school marching band.

Equipment: 7 piece Tama Star Classics.

Influences: Tommy Lee, Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater and Danny Carey of Tool.

Hobbies: Playing basketball, Frisbee golf, listening to music, spending time with his kids and 420.

Favorite Movies: The Star Wars and Rocky movies, Friday the 13th, Bruce Lee movies & Cheech and Chongs "Up in Smoke".

Most Embarrassing Moment: Chris and his wife Veronica were at Target when he suddenly had to go and didn't quite make it to the bathroom in time. Needless to say, he had soiled underwear.

Coolest Thing I've Done: When on tour in Europe with FLAW. The band went to Amsterdam and partied their butts off. They savored the sweet taste of "Wweet Tooth," the Cannabis Cup winner for two years in a row.
