Newsical Notes

John Caudill will be performing on the songwriter's night stage at the celebrated Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tenn., on April 9. Hope a fellow Co-oper or two can be there in his audience.

Best of luck in Music City, John.

Former LASC member and current resident of Nashville Karen LeVan was in town late last month to be with her itinerant son Jimmy who had broken his ankle. She phoned up just before heading back down south and filled me in on all the exciting things going on in Nashville, most especially the ITR (in the round) nights at the Bluebird. As always, she encouraged me to come down for a little R&R (but would we get any of the first "R"?).

Karen said that LASC friend Gardner Barger had recently been in Nashville and had taken her to dinner. They somehow missed connections with another friend, Wally Stewart, who was there from his home in Scottsburg, Ind. Along with Earl Meyers, the two gents were in Music City in connection with an NSAI seminar.

D. V. Gilbert recently sent to us a photo copy ot the plaque he received from The National Library of Poetry for his "Ashes to Ashes" poem/song. Thanks, D. V., it looks nice.

Our sympathy is extended to LASC Board member and Secretary Bryan Hurst whose mother, Alberta L. Hurst, passed away on March 21.
