Earl's Pearls'

"How trustworthy are people with your song ideas?" Terre Price asked the question at the June NSAI Louisville songwriters workshop meeting. My response was, "Maybe one out of a hundred would steal a line or an idea from a song. However, songs don't do you much good stashed in a closet. Though small, there is a risk, but the word gets around fast in the music business if someone is less than reputable.

I also suggested keeping data, such as the date, location, etc., of songs performed or played at events or critiques. It is information that could help in a court of law if ever needed.

Copyright laws will be addressed at an upcoming NSAI meeting.
