Down On The Corner
By Paul Moffett

FREE TICKETS – We have five pairs of tickets to see Craig Morganat Horseshoe Casino on November 14. I have a MySpace page at www.myspace/lmnguy. The first five people to send me an email message through the MySpace page AFTER 6 p.m. EDT on November 6 (two days after the election), will win a pair of tickets each.

• While chatting with my buddy Brian P. White Sunday night at Bearno's By the Bridge, he mentioned that his friend Derek, owner of Blue Velvet on Frankfort, had been approached about handling ticket sales for the Will Oldhamappearance on November 21 for the Lexington Hemlock Tree Benefit. Oldham & The Picket Line with The Swells & The Englishmen will appear at the Old Tarr Distillery, 903 Manchester St. If you're interested, call the Blue Velvet at 502-895-5525 for ticket info.

• For those of you who might be occasionally checking my Editor's Blog on line and noticing that I haven't been posting, please accept my apologies. My spouse has had a series of medical 'adventures' which have taken me away from my trusty office computer. It is my hope that the problems will be resolved before too long.

Oh, yes, don't forget to vote. Really.

• Somehow, we overlooked the passing of John Albrecht back in August. Our apologies to all concerned. The obituary follows.
