Catch Silverwood

Tight Squeeze alumnus Nancy Harris joined forces with guitarist John Grammer to do Celtic music. Her husband, percussionist extraordinaire Sam Harris, is now adding bodhran to the mix. Their mix of flute, tin whistles, guitar and bodhran should be heard at your earliest convenience. Start on July 14 by coming to the Farmers' Market at the Bardstown Presbyterian Church, 1722 Bardstown Road. The market opens at 8:30 a.m. and runs until noon. What a nice morning!

Louisville Feis

This year's Feis was a big success. Dance competitors came from all over the Midwest. The Louisville Pipe Band played and a grand time was had by all. If you interested in Irish dancing, call Heather McClannahan at 897-1400 to get on the mailing list or to arrange for dance performances for your next gala event!

Piping and Drumming

If you are interested in learning the Celtic arts of piping and pipe band drumming, contact Rick McKenzie at 894-8856. Lessons are free and rehearsals are on Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 pm. Call Rick for details.

A New Venue

Louisville is lucky to have venues like the Irish Rover, Molly Malone's and O'Shea's, where Celtic music can be heard. Coming soon is Kitty O'Kirwan's Pub at 102 Bauer Avenue, connected with the Celtic Centre of Martha and Gerry Forde. In addition to great food and beverages from the auld sod, you will no doubt have the opportunity to hear Celtic music. We hope that Drowsy Maggie will be there for its many faithful fans.
