Celtic Corner
By Roz Carrothers

The Pail

So maybe your New Year's resolution isn't to lose weight, but to get into better shape and cardiac health - no finer way to do that than a contra dance. The Pail ( a.k.a. Tinneus McPann, Raymond McReamonn, Master Griley and Strummer MacCabee) will be playing the January dance for the Louisville Contra Dancers on Saturday the 17th of January at the Church of the Advent on the corner of Cherokee Road and Baxter Avenue from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. Come for the dancing, the social scene, or the music. Either way, you'll be doing yourself some good!

Celtic Net Chat

Want to discuss Celtic music with other music lovers over the Internet? Check out www.celticmusic.meetup. The first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. is the Celtic meetup. Doesn't look like Louisville has gotten a group together yet. Pretty amazing that we don't, considering the number of Celtic music lovers and musicians in this town. Meetup is a website that arranges monthly discussion groups of people with similar interests. (It may encourage some of you that the Democratic meeting has 76 people to the Republican's tally of 35!)

Seisiun

Time to get back into the seisiun scene and brush up on the old tunes and learn some new ones. We have the long standing seisuin at Kitty O'Kirwan's on Thursday nights and the new one at Molly Malone's on Sunday at 4 p.m. And don't forget the live music at Kitty's on Sunday evening starting at 7 p.m. It's a nice time to bring the family, have a wonderful dinner and listen to live music.
