Ronnie Milsap: Wouldn't Have Missed It For The World

I had the opportunity to see a tremendous show on October 9, 2003 at Caesar's Indiana in their Coliseum, when none other than the legendary Ronnie Millsap performed two shows to capacity crowds. What an amazing show that really was, a walk back to a simpler time when music was pure and from the heart.

This man is truly amazing. I sat there in awe for the entire sixty minute set. Ronnie Millsap has had an incredible career, with forty #1 hits. Before that, he played piano and sang background for the King himself while living in Memphis. Pretty damn good for an old, blind man. The next time you are having a bad day, think about what this guy is doing, living his life to the fullest.

Going through the list of songs that he sang is like a history lesson of the Country music charts of the last half of the t20th Century: "Smoky Mountain Rain," "I Wouldn't Have Missed It for the World," "What A Difference You Made In My Life," "Stranger In My House" and perhaps everyone's favorite, "Lost In The Fifties Tonight," are some of the classics jam-packed into this relative short show. He even played a couple of Elvis tunes, accompanied by a comedian dressed as Elvis (who opened the show for him.)

I wouldn't have missed this show for the world. Go see him live, you will truly feel that "Smokey Mountain Rain."
