Down On The Corner

• Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, otherwise known as Insane Clown Posse, are scheduled to appear on October 21 as part of the actors for the Baxter Avenue Morgue haunted house, playing the parts of "Wicked Clowns" inside the haunted house. They will not perform music, sign autographs or sell albums, according to Joey Arena, director of the haunted house.

Admission for that evening is by advance ticket sales. Tickets will be $20 and are available at the Morgue, 451 Baxter Ave., or online at www.13bats.com.

• The Falls of the Ohio Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Committee has been selected to represent Kentucky in Continental Harmony, the national music commissioning program sponsored by American Composers Forum and the National Endowment for the Arts. The basic outline of the project is for each community to select its own composer, who spends time in residency studying the community and the people and finally creating a composition for performance. In Louisville, the Louisville Orchestra will perform a fanfare to celebrate the Falls of the Ohio River National Signature Event during the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Celebration.

• For those of you thinking about attending the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, time is short. You can pre-register online at www.cmj.com/marathon until October 1. After that, you have to pay full retail. The event is scheduled for October 30-November 2.

• Robert S. Kinnamon, 73, died on September 9 in Louisville. He was an active member of the Louisville Thoroughbred Barbershop Chorus.

• William O. Sweeny, 81, died on September 8 in Louisville. He was a musician who appeared at the Grand Ole Opry on two occasions.

• Richard P. Wiliams, 61, died on September 9 in Louisville. He was member of the Gospel 5 quartet.
