Letter to the Editor

Blues fans beware!

There is an insidious monster attacking an organization in Louisville and it's time we were all made aware of it. Yes, friends, APATHY is lurking amidst blues fans and is slowly creeping toward the body's heart.

There is a blues society in this city with a few hundred members (I know this for a fact because I'm a board member of the organization) who supposedly support the blues musicians of the world.

I am therefore baffled and consternated when groups like the Legendary Blues Band and the William Clarke Blues Band play to a virtually empty house. What's going on? It seems to me that there should be at least one representative of the KYANA Blues Society at any blues function in the area, to recruit members and explain what KYANA is all about, whether we sponsor the function or not.

Our mission, as I understand it, is to perpetuate and support the blues in whatever form, format or location it is to be found. So come on, blues fans, let's get it together and take care of business.
