Songwriter Opportunities

"The Songwriters' School" sponsored by The Music Career Learning Series (MCLS) is offering an eight-hour seminar entitled "The Business End of Songwriting." The discussion group will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. for two weeks, beginning September 11. Meetings are held at the MCLS Meeting Room on Music Row.

Session leaders include: Attorneys David Maddox and Chris Horsnell who delve into "The Copyright Law and the Writer" and "Songwriter Contracts," respectively. Publishers Pat Halper (Hayes St. Music) leads a talk on "Publishers and the Developing Writer"; Woody Bomar (Little Big Town Music) discusses "How Writers Find Publisher" and Chuck Neese (The New Company) talks about "What to Demo and How."

Reservations are $60 and are made by calling (615) 352-6865 for MCLS Registrar Denice Fish. Enrollment is limited to twenty.
