MEMBER NEWS

WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS!

Now this is something thasn't happen every day. We have two new members with the last name of Gibbs. Well, you say, maybe they're husband and wife. I don't think so . . . one is Theodore, the other Mark. Maybe brothers? Nah. No relation, but both are hoping to become successful songwriters in the near future.

Good luck and welcome to you both!

Often new members have questions concerning the Co-op or the music industry in general; please don't hesitate to call me at 502-893-0693. Or ask any of our LASC members. The very heart of the cooperative is working together and helping each other.

Anyone interested in joining the LASC or wanting more information about the organization is also welcome to call me at the above number and I will be glad to answer any questions and/or forward a membership application.

PLEASE NOTE: The Co-op would like to encourage new members to include with their completed application an attached page with biographical information.

Our welcome column is the perfect place to "let yourself be know!"

RE-MEMBER-ING

We don't want to forget to thank those members who have renewed their membership for another year: Pen Bogert, Bill Ferguson, Chris Hale, Willam Juckett, Michael Kessler, Paulette Logsdon, Sally Mudd, Bill Pickard, Bob Rosenthal and Joyce Trammell.

Dues Went Up But Showcase Admission To Fall

Effective January 1, 1992, annual LASC membership dues increased to $25. To offset this increase, members will be given free admission to regular showcases at the Rudyard Kipling. Excluded from this free admission will be the April and November showcases. We know that we have run this item two or three times, but we want to get the message across.

Your next chance to get in free is at the February Showcase.

COLLABORATOR'S CORNER

Interested in finding a collaborator? Call Tim Lynch (502-964-8527) or Diana Black (502-893-0693) and they will include your name, phone number and type of music and/or lyrics you write in a column that will begin appearing periodically in the Letter.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As chair of LASC's membership committee, I would like to thank Wally Stewart, Michael Layman and Ron Allgood for their help during 1991! Wally and Michael have covered meetings and showcases and Ron has helped with member meetings. (Spread the word, guys, if you feel you have gotten more from the Co-op through volunteering. I know there must be more good workers out there.)

Some Numbers

The 1991 year-end total number of new members is 58; only down 4 from 1990 total. The 1991 year-end total number of members who renewed their membership is 106; up 10 from 1990 total.
