Songwriter Opportunities

The American (formerly Indie) Bullet magazine is running its 1992 Songwriting Contest. There are two deadlines: June 30 and November 30 for the semi-annual sections of the contest.

The contest is for country songs. Entry fee is $25 per entry. Prizes include a master recording session in Nashville, a single release to radio, radio promotion by American Bullet, advertising in the magazine and tracking services, 200 CDs and press and publicity overseas and in the US.

From the Songwriters of Wisconsin Newsletter: Lighthouse Publishers of Nashville is running the Lighthouse Publishers Gospel Songwriters Contest. First prize is a three-day trip to Nashville and a contract (presumably on the song). Second prize is $250, Third prize is $100 and a one-year subscription to Gospel Songwriters Newsletter. Submit a cassette, three songs maximum, with lead sheets and bio with $20 entry fee to: Lighthouse Publishers, 4815 Trosudale Dr. Ste 398, Nashville, TN 37220.
