LASC Contest Set for August '93
Lyrics-Only Category Added
The LASC's Seventh Annual Amateur Songwriting Contest, Songwriting Competition '93, has been set for the month of August '93. The Board of Trustees has decided to modify one category and add another this year.
The jazz category will be changed to include all instrumental music, including New Age, pop and other.
A lyrics-only category has also been added. This category has a prize of $100. In the last issue of the LASC Letter, this category was announced with the rule that the lyrics must be read aloud into a tape.
This rule has been dropped in favor of a rule requiring that the lyrics-only entry shall be typed lyrics only.
A complete set of rules and entry forms will be published in the June issue of the LASC Letter.
