Derby Dinner Express '93-94

Make travel plans now for Derby Dinner Playhouse's 1993-94 season, billed as "a fun-filled year of music, comedy and adventure in exciting places like Paris, New York, the Caribbean and Austria."

First stop on the eight-play package tour is the musical thriller "Phantom," a tale of love and betrayal, running May ll through July 4.

The train pulls into the station on July 13 and departs on August 22 for "The Seven Year Itch," the second offering of the season.

The Little Sisters of Hoboken invite you to their fund-raising revue August 24 through October 3 when the train stops for a little "Nunsense."

Broadway is next on your route as "Guys & Dolls" holds forth beginning on October 5 and tarrying through November 14. You can't lose if you bet on this pairing of a big-time gambler and a demure Salvation Army lass.

Picking up speed, the Derby Dinner Express zooms along with "Wife Begins at 40!" wherein the secrets of marriage, divorce, sex and life after 40 are revealed. The production rings in the year '94 on January 4 and lingers through February 13.

The folk at Derby Dinner no doubt feel you are on the right track as they offer "What a Way to Go" February 15 through March 13. This production marks the world premiere of a new musical comedy from Nashville songwriter Billy Edd Wheeler, who penned the June Carter / Johnny Cash hit "Jackson," qualifying him for a stop on the Derby Dinner Express tour.

Passengers on the DDE will be treated to a glimpse of "Bali Ha'i" and other Rodgers & Hammerstein classics when Derby Dinner is transported to the "South Pacific" March 15 through April 24. And the only water you'll have to cross is the mighty Ohio; all the better if you live on its north side.

Now here's the deal: Derby Dinner offers "Critic's Choice," a package that includes all eight plays; the "Mini Series," which includes five plays (all but "Phantom," "What a Way to Go" and "The Sound of Music.") No substitutions.

Subscribers who renewed by April 15 need not fear having to move to new seats for 1993-94; new subscribers will need to get their tickets by the July 4 deadline.

Additional ticket information may be had by calling 812-288-8281.

Derby Dinner Playhouse is located at 525 Marriott Drive in Clarksville, Ind.

All aboard!
