Lyrics important

I'm writing in response to Mark Clark's review of the Hula Hoop release, My Sweet Amputee, in the September 1993 issue. I won't challenge anything Mark said about the songs or the performances on this tape because this all goes to personal taste. However, I think Mark did readers an injustice by not warning us about the unintelligibility of the lyrics. While I don't expect an in-dept critique of the recording quality, I do expect to be told if the vocals are mixed too far back to understand most of the words as is the case with My Sweet Amputee. Lyrics are an important part of vocal music and I hope future reviews include this information.
