Rock This House (Big Mo)
The Nighthawks

Delivering sweaty, live blues with an unerring sense of party, the Nighthawks split the night with the stinging guitars and harp of Danny Morris and Mark Wenner, respectively. Primarily trading in Chicago-style blues (a la Muddy, Otis Rush), the 'Hawks make some satisfying side trips into rockabilly (Carl Perkins' "Cat Clothes") and New Orleans rhythm ("I'm a Hog for You). Less satisfying is the closer, Merle Travis' "Sixteen Tons," a double-time excuse for some guitar and harp flash that obscures the song's original spirit.
