Gene Watson Looking Forward to Shepherdsville

Vountry music "singer's singer," Gene Watson, is anxiously awaiting his two performances at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Shepherdsville Country Music Show on Sun., Oct. 6. Watson recently told Louisville Music News, "We're looking forward to coming up there and seeing a bunch of friends."

One of country music's elite 'down-home country traditionalists,' Gene Watson describes his show as "a show that most of the people will recognize all the songs because they're the ones that made them hits. It's the kind of show that you can bring any member of the family to see. It's a good, clean show--we try to satisfy all the people."

Fans will be treated to all of Watson's number one favorites as well as some brand new material. "We try our best to do what the people come out to hear--all the ones that got us started, 'Love In The Hot Afternoon,' 'Where Love Begins.' We do them all: 'Fourteen Carat Mind,' 'Paper Rosie,' [and 'Farewell Party']. In fact, we might slide some stuff in there that they haven't even heard yet."

We've got a brand new album that's on its way out right now. The title of the new single is 'Change Her Mind' and the title of the album is The Good Old Days."

Watson has enjoyed continued success in country music due to his passion for true-life stories. "I feel like if I can tell a story about something that has happened to you or been a part of your life or something that you've been part of that you can relate to, I fell like I pretty much have your attention and that's what I aim at."

Advance tickets to Gene Watson's shows are $15.00 and $17.00 at the door. To purchase tickets or for more information, call Renda Aiken at (502) 968-6358. To get to the Shepherdsville Country Music Show, take I-65 South to Exit 117 (Shepherdsville) and go 2 1/2 miles West on Hwy. 44.
