U of L Jazz Week Schedule

The University of Louisville School of Music has announced the schedule for Jazz Week '98, a week-long celebration of jazz, running from February 23 - 28. In addition to many concerts by jazz legends, the event offers educational opportunities for jazz students, including lectures, clinics and student performances. The evening concert schedule is:

Monday, Feb. 23 The Michael Brecker Quartet, one of today's most influential jazz groups;

Tuesday, Feb. 24 Louisville Jazz Society featuring local jazz talent

Wednesday, Feb. 25 Video Historian Hal Miller presenting an evening of rare film and video footage

Thursday, Feb. 26 U of L Jazz Ensemble with guest soloist Vince DiMartino and U of L Vocal Jazz Ensemble

Friday, Feb. 27 Stanley Turrentine with U of L Jazz Ensemble I ;jazz and blues saxophone legend

Saturday, Feb. 28 Dr. Billy Taylor with U of L Jazz Ensemble I; solo pianist, composer, educator, and CBS television personality.
