Greg Long
By Victoria Moon
If you like straight-up, mainstream vanilla pop CCM, you're going to like this disk. Unfortunately, this is also the frustrating and ultimately disappointing aspect of Long's latest release--it breaks no new ground whatsoever. This is formulaic CCM at its best and worst: Long's delivery is sincere and well-done and the songs are well-crafted pop songs, but you constantly have the feeling while listening to this project that you've heard this before somewhere. It sounds more like a studio-assembled product than an artist's heart and life, and one can only hope that in future projects Long will move away from the proven formulas of CCM to something a bit more daring and creative in its scope.
