The Speed Art Museum offers many services and opportunities to our community, not the least of which is its Concert Series. One of its highlights was the recital of Alicia De Larrocha, who ranks among the very best pianists, should one devise an international rating. She has mastered the piano reportoire with skill, dedication and practice. And while it is a joy to hear her play whatever she chooses, she performs the music of her native Spain with unique insight and vitality. Thanks to the Speed for bringing her here.
Whats In a Name?
The season finale of the new and well-received Thursday Concert Series is Bang on a Can All-Stars But please note that their concert will be on the Third Thursday, April 16. This ensemble is something new in chamber music. Their concert promises to be exciting, as the six persons in the ensemble, each highly talented in his or her own speciality, have come together to champion new American music. Though they have received consistent critical acclaim, come and hear for yourself.
