Bob Schneider, returns to Louisville for the second time this year with a show the Mercury Ballroom. A man of diverse backgrounds (he grew up in Germany) and eclectic inclinations in music, which include funk, country, rock and folk (and maybe some lieder?), he is a recording maniac, having a released more records since 2000 than most musicians do in an entire career, not counting the recording and release of every concert he plays. He's good at it, apparently - he has won twenty-four Austin Music Awards. His most well-known song is "40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet)," which reached #14 on the AAA Radio Chart. He also has scored a number of soundtrack placements, including "Big Blue Sea" in the movie "Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood." He has an audience in Louisville, too. He's headed to the Mercury on July 24, with Dawn & Hawkes opening. Tickets are $18.50 plus $4.50 if you buy them online.
