The 2014 Garvin Gate Blues Festival kicks off on October 10, with Mark "Big Poppa" Stampley, da Mudcats, Mark "Big Poppa" Stampley, Zakk Knight Band and Homemade Jamz Blues Band. The next day, October 11, offers up even more blues, with sets by Mississippi Adam Riggle Band, Ten Foot Polecats, The Tanita Gaines Band, Pen Bogert & Billy Bird, Lamont Gillispie & the 100 Proof Blues Band, Laurie Jane And The 45s, Pen Bogert & Billy Bird, The Stella-Vees Blues Band and Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets. This is, of course, Louisville's biggest, most favorite blues festival and it's free. It's booked by the Kentuckiana Blues Society  Mike Suttles and sponsored by Four Roses Bourbon,The Garvin Gate Neighborhood Association and Councilman David James - Louisville Metro Government. For the record, this is the 19th edition of the Festival, though it has not been continuously staged. Stir yourself up and get on out to see some it. Here's the schedule:
