The very thought of being in the same room as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins by itself would be enough to send the mildest rockabilly fan into the fantods. To be there while they jammed - oh, Lord, pass the smelling salts. That did happen way back when and it's been the stuff of legend and scholarly pursuit since. Since the recordings that were made by engineer Cowboy Jack Clements turned up some time later and were released. it only seemed logical that somebody should to make a musical (aimed at the demographic that grew up listening to that music, of course) out of it and so they did. It kicks off a six-night, seven-performance run in Whitney Hall at Kentucky Center on February 12. Tickets start at $25
