Shovels & Rope, a husband and wife duo, at Zanzabar on July 8. Fresh from SXSW, S&R tour relentlessly, having opened for Hayes Carll, Jason Isbell, Felice Brothers, Justin Townes Earle and Butch Walke - all in 2011. They call it outlaw country plus avant garde Americana and sing songs about being in love while dirt-poor and struggling to "keep a nail in the floor." They have solo albums between them and one S&R album. All together, the show sounds like it will not be much like anything else. Tickets are $7 adv/$10 DoS.
