In case you were unaware, "foxy shazams" means "cool shoes" or at least, so said bandleader Eric Sean Nally, by way of explanation of the name of the band. He later recanted, however. Be that as it way, the Cincy-based Foxy Shazam band will headline the Thursday, May 3 show at the Phoenix Hill Tavern, along with The Velcro Pygmies, 2 Far Gone and The Over-Reactors. The band is on the way up, having scored their tune "Unstoppable" featured at Super Bowl XLIV. The tune later made it into TV cartoon shows and movie trailers. They get compared to Queen for their theatrics and over-the-top lyrics and are touring in support of the new album, The Church of Rock and Roll. Check with the Phoenix for ticket info.
