What can you say about a twenty-something singer/songwriter who references Charles Bukowski and Hank III as influences? You might say "Bar the doors, Martha, and take cover," but no, Ohio's Lydia Loveless plays and sings her own songs and to date hasn't cold-cocked anybody or gotten drunk and torn up a barroom, at least as far as we know. She's got a big voice, a punk attitude and an album called Indestructible Machine and she'll be at Uncle Slayton's on May 10, where for a mere $8 you can see what she's all about.
