Charlie Daniels is getting on up in years, but that hasn't cooled him down any, as far his fans, music and political positions are concerned. Wielding his fiddle and those positions with equal abandon, he and his band continue to tour, making a stop in Louisville during Derby Week at the Kroger Fest-A-Ville Derby Eve Jam in Waterfront Park on May 4, along with The Hillbenders. A Grammy winner (for "The Devil Went Down To Georgia"), Daniels has played with a significant number of musicians who have recorded in Nashville, including Bob Dylan, The Marshall Tucker Band, Hank Jr. and so on, leaving no doubt that he is a significant figure in rock and country music in the last half of the 20th Century. The show is free with a Pegasus pin.--Paul Moffett
