Phantom Family Halo comes home from Brooklyn for a show at the über-hip Zanzabar, along with Alcohol Party and Houston's Balaclavas on April 3. Since decamping to the Big Apple, PFH has been gathering up all manner of media fans, not to mention regular fans, for their music, which is variously described as "new heavy psych" and "a post-metal state of ungodly loudness." Considering that the primary two players are Michael McMahan, who plays with Slint and Dominic Cipolla of Sapat, knowledgeable fans will understand that the music goes places other performers couldn't find with a map. Tickets are a mere $8.
