If jamming yourself into the crowds at either the Waterfront or 4th Street Live! isn't your cup of tea, maybe you need to go to Headliners on May 4 for the show featuring Dallas-based roots/alt.rock band The Old 97s and Canada's The Sam Roberts Band. Beginning as a bar band, they hit the national scene in 1994 with Hitchhike to Rhome, which got them attention from bigger national labels. Even though they have landed a number of tunes on various TV shows and movies since, they have still had a bit of a struggle, never quite living up to expectations. Their latest albums are The Grand Theatre, Volume One and Volume Two. They played Headliners shows back in 2011 and 2009, so they should have a fan base. Tickets are $15 adv/$18DoS.
