The British band Mumford & Sons will come play their favorite kind of music - rootsy - in the Waterfront, along with Dawes, on August 13. The musicians in M&S tend to switch instruments during a show, which certainly makes for a lot of stage activity. Their songs are inspired by Shakespeare and Steinbeck, meaning that they are actually literate. Dawes continues the tradition of the Laurel Canyon sound, so it's folk-rock that boomers will recognize. The event is a WFPK-promoted show; tickets are $40 and $5.
