For those of you too young (or too forgetful) to be familiar with Foreigner's background, here's the ten-cent summary, courtesy of Wikipedia: "Foreigner was originally formed in New York City in 1976 by veteran English musician and ex–Spooky Tooth member Mick Jones, and fellow Briton and ex–King Crimson member Ian McDonald along with American vocalist Lou Gramm." So you see, they had significant roots before the current config. Of course, only Mick Jones is an original member and even he isn't always a player, which means sometimes they're just a cover band. Ah, well, it's the same axe. They'll show you their chops at the Louisville Palace on September 6. Tickets run $39-$99. Here's a video of their 40th Anniversary show, with a few more original members:
