Bettye LaVette is a living example of why you should never give up if you think you have the magic. LaVette made her first record at 16 but didn't get any real notice until 2005's I've Got My Own Hell To Raise. Now she's headlining a Waterfront Wednesday show on June 27, along with Otis Junior and Dr. Dundiff. LaVette has a new album, Things Have Changed.
