Jay Farrar's band Son Volt will light up Headliners on April 15, when they will offer up tunes from their latest, Notes Of Blue, released in February. Anyone who has been paying attention to the alt-americana genre over the last fifteen years or so has a pretty fair idea of the stories behind Farrar's and Jeff Tweedy's Uncle Tupelo, which was a mainstay of the alternative country genre in the first half of the Nineties.
