WFPK kicks off their Waterfront Wednesdays series for 2015 on April 22 at the Big Four Lawn, with Austin singer-songriter Shakey Graves plus J.D. McPherson and Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers doing the honors. Graves is still plugging his 2014 effort, And The War Came, plus he'll likely toss in some tunes from his curiously difficult to find Nobody's Fool. Nicki Bluhm says this of her band (with husband Tim as musical director) ""There’s four songwriters in the band — me, Tim, lead guitarist Deren Ney, and rhythm guitarist Dave Mulligan. Basically we all write independently and then bring songs to the table and play ’em for each other. Typically we always like the songs that people bring in; I think there has yet to be a song that we didn’t like, which is really lucky. We all definitely have a common thread in our songwriting, but it’s all got some personality to it. I think it’s really cool to have multiple songwriters; it kind of diversifies the feel and the sound. So far it’s worked well for us." McPherson is from Broken Bow, Oklahoma and is plugging his second release, Let The Good Times Roll. Clearly a show for lovers of singer-songwriters. It's free, of course. Here's Grave's "Nobody's Fool":
