Combichrist, an American band founded by a Norwegian, Andy LaPlegua, plays a sort of electro-industrial music called aggrotech (presumably from "aggressive" rather than "agriculatural"), a style that is far out on the edge of the industrial music flow chart but which, mosh comes to shove, is a kind of pissed-off EDM. The recordings are done entirely by LaPlegua alone in the studio but performed live with a band and apparently sell very well. The name came from a character in a fanzine LaPlegua put out in the 1990s. The band will be at the Vernon Club, along with William Control, Empyrean Asunder, Davey Suicide, Darksiderz and Shawna The Dead on Friday, October 24. Combichrist has a new album, We Love You, to play for you. Tickets to the show are $20.
